  • Preparing testimony and regulatory comments for delivery at legislative hearings and in response to public requests for information.
  • Policy analysis – review of draft legislation, gathering data for evidence-based talking points, assessing potential impact, and analyzing evaluation metrics.
  • Resource development – creation of toolkits, fact sheets, talking points, background pieces, relevant data, and related materials to assist advocates in case-making activities.

“I have had the good fortune to know, and work with, Alyson Reed for many years and in various contexts. During her time as the Executive Director of the Linguistic Society of America, my interactions with her were mostly related to my scientific and administrative experience. Of particular relevance were roles that I served in at Haskins Laboratories, the National Science Foundation, and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. Working with Alyson has always been a delight. Her knowledge, experience, and ability to get things done are remarkable. She makes things happen and brings people together in a most effective manner. Her mastery of academia, the political scene in Washington, D.C., policy, and connecting to people, has made her an enormously effective advocate for linguistics and science in general. Her administrative and business skills are excellent.”
